Description
PRODUCTION AREA: Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. Made from the red grape variety Tempranillo (aka Tinta del Païs) sourced from vines grown in clay-sand soils around the village of Olmedillo de Roa in Burgos province.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 100% Tempranillo
WINE-MAKING: The grapes are carefully selected and picked by hand. After a 2-day pre-fermentation cold soak, the must is fermented at a controlled-temperature of around 24°C to bring out optimal aromatic expression. The wine spends 3 months in American oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle where it finishes its ageing process.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: A deep cherry colour with violet undertones.
Nose: Layers of cherry, plum and red berry fruit with subtle touches of chocolate, coffee and toasty oak.
Palate: Full and fruity with a touch of vanilla. Soft tannins and a long pleasant finish.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16 to 17°C
FOOD PAIRINGS: Great with lamb chops, pâtés or game dishes.
